Welcome!
I was born in Arizona but divide my time between Philadelphia and New York. In recent years I’ve written mostly about art, literature, and film—I’m particularly keen on pieces about misunderstood genres, neglected forms, and forgotten literary oddballs.
You can read my work in The New Yorker, the New York Times, The Baffler, The Drift, The Nation, Artforum, The Wall Street Journal, Art in America, The Forward, and various other places.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch! I can be reached at jma2195@gmail.com.
